Starting this season, Buitenleven offers a very special place to spend the night: an original SRV van, steeped in history and transformed into a charming tiny house.
This mobile shop drove through the village of Waverveen for years, where Linda’s mother, Niesje, did her shopping. The Van Veen brothers were known for their unparalleled service: from a friendly chat to delivering groceries to your home or even putting them in your fridge. When they stopped driving in 2023, the van was given a new lease of life. And that life begins here, at Buitenleven.
A unique experience
Sleeping in the SRV van is more than just an overnight stay: it is an experience full of nostalgia, atmosphere and a touch of Dutch cultural history. And kids can still have a great time behind the wheel of the SRV. A special place for anyone who loves conviviality and a story with a warm heart. The SRV van is ready to make new memories—perhaps together with you.
The SRV van has been lovingly converted into a comfortable tiny house for four people.
Inside you will find:
- A cosy double room with comfortable box-spring beds
- A sofa bed (1.35 × 1.95) for two extra sleeping places
- A compact kitchenette with a two-burner gas stove and everything else you need
- A private toilet
- A dining area for a relaxed breakfast or game
Outside, there is a cosy veranda with a picnic bench, and beachchairs perfect for a cup of coffee in the morning sun or a drink at the end of the day. You can shower in the adjacent sanitary building.
